dp researches and ponders existence, behaviours and value-systems, in a way that, most unscientifically, could be termed humanimalistic. or intimate. using sound as main catalyst, his re/search is for improvement, raising awareness, finding meaning, tuning senses, seeing the big picture, and some form of release - a release that often is polemical and cathartic, and one that opposes the omnipresent reduction of existence, that desires to cast aside artificial arrangements and constraints

born in zug, switzerland in 1969, to an english father and a french mother. since hearing the goons' ying-tong-song as a toddler, music has been his foremost passion and obsession.

in 1987 dp co-founds hardcore-extremists fear of god, whose life was short and intense. the subsequent decision to work solo led to experiments with the voice, an interest in bodily and concrete sounds, field recordings and the still prevalent search for experiences and phenomena that test and cross borders, habits, inhibitions and rules.

during the late 80's, at his first job at recrec, a zürich label and distribution for independant music, dp got to know rudolf eb.er (founder of schimpfluch, runzelstirn & gurgelstøck), and joke lanz (sudden infant), whose ideas and approaches proved to be of similar inclinations, thus common ground was quickly found, established and pursued. this loose constellation is also known as 'schimpfluch-gruppe' or 'schimpfluch-commune int.', and amongst others includes marc zeier (g*park) and daniel löwenbrück (raionbashi).

a first trip to southeastasia's jungles in 1994 deepens dp's interest in the sounds of nature, especially that of insects, amphibians and water.

in 1997 a serious injury damages dp's back for life, an experience that, after a period of darkness, is channelled into his work at intensified levels.

with tom smith (to live and shave in l.a.), daniel löwenbrück (raionbashi, tochnit aleph label) and reto mäder (rm74, hinterzimmer label) OHNE is established in 2000, forcing 4 distinctive characters to constant tumult and some outputs.

dead peni (the name is partly chosen in tribute to rudimentary peni) is a solo-project initiated in 2004, using electric bass, a drum-machine, voice and backing tapes. the peni bows to the lifelong companions of dp's musical world, metal and punk.
